It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..

It's almost that time of year again.
I really should get my act together.
Lots of my neighbours have decorated their homes and gardens and I've done NOTHING!!
You see,I'm a big believer in Christmas being in December and seeing it's still only November, I reckon I've still got time.
The tree won't be making an appearance until the 1st.
Christmas cards will be signed with kisses in the coming weeks.
Gift buying won't be happening anytime soon because my two teenage sons can't get around to thinking of what they might like.
So November, s-t-r-e-t-c-h yourself out because I'm not ready for December to roll around.
I know I should be more organised, seeing I've been celebrating this season for 40 odd years but I'm not.
So by my calculations, I've still got a few days up my sleeve and if I'm not prepared I'll do what I always do, I'll wing it and hope for the best.

Almost, Seasons greetings to you all..xx

Shabby stool rescue & a giveaway..

A few posts ago I showed you my new dining chair covers that I made.

Now, they've got some new friends
.

I rescued these stools from the side of the road, just around the corner from my home.
I forgot to take a before shot but suffice to say they were an orangey bamboo colour, with faded blue, green and yellow covers. (BLAH)
Out came the white spray paint, they took 3 coats each to cover the original colour.
My dining chair covers are made with Emmie Ros fabric from Ikea and these guys got the same treatment.
I used the white on grey version.

They're removable for washing.
I love the french latticed backs.

Now my dining and breakfast area is complete.

Don't forget to enter my fabric giveaway in the post below.

                                                  Have a wonderful week..xx

The giveaway is valued at approx $100 which includes postage.

         The Giveaway:

A teesuit starter pack which includes 3 teesuits for either boy/girl.

Features.

Designed and Owned by 100% Australian mum

GOTS Certified Organic Cotton
(not only is the growing part cert organic but the whole process - growing, harvesting, processing, dyeing, manufacturing and looking after the people is the only way to be certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard.)

Grown and Manufactured in Turkey - the largest country producing Certified Organic Cotton. Why Turkey and not Australia?? (the last batch of Australian Organic Cotton was harvested in 2006 and last bale sold in 2009 - this cotton still had to be sent off shore to be made into yarn/fabric then re-imported for manufacturing) - Currently there is no Australian Organic Cotton available and leaving a smaller carbon footprint is important.

This is the only product in Australia that uniquely combines two garments in one to truly make dressing baby easy.

No more 'ride-ups'

No more unsightly 'tucked-in look'

Great for babies with skin allergies and chemical sensitivities - Certified Organic means it is not genetically modified and no nasty chemicals have been used in any of the processes. Leaving the closest thing to your babies skin as nature intended.

Comes in sizes 0-3mths through to 12-18mths in 6 colours and 2 sleeve lengths - see website for details or contact Rebecca by email:

Time flies...

Well they say time flies when you're having fun and I've been having a lot of fun lately.
I've had the sewing machine out and have been busy sewing up a storm.
I've been using some gorgeous fabric from Ikea and am so happy with the results.

Made a new set of dining chair covers in a heavy french grey/white floral.

My roadside rescued velvet ottoman was given a pretty ruffly make over.

A litttle stool was given a new 'dress'.

An old wooden chest was bought back to life with Ikeas' christmas musical note fabric.

Ikea has such great fabrics and are really well priced.
A few posts ago I was starting to think about our backyard makeover.
Well it's been started and is slowly taking shape.
I'll give you a sneek peak but you'll have to wait for the the big reveal when it's all finished.

Be sure to check back soon,I've a great giveaway coming..xx
