Things my teenagers teach me!!

This last week or so my stress levels are hitting new highs..

I feel bad because trivial things seem to be annoying me more than ever..

What's gone wrong I ask myself..

I'll tell you whats gone wrong!!!!!

TEENAGE BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I'm listing what my boys are so are LOVINGLY teaching me..

*That my eldest runs in his own time zone and yelling does not make his clock tick faster.

*My youngest ones hair is actually a work of art and I SHOULD know that art takes time and patience.

*I'm learning that girls between the age of 14 and 16 are VERY important to my eldest ones social life and NO other mums in the universe whinge about how much time their kids spend on the phone..(Only I complain..so I've been told).

*I've just learnt that my sons don't like ONION in their spaghetti bolognaise even though they've been eating this since time began.

*I should know that clothes on the floor don't mean they're dirty..just waiting to be reworn.

*My youngest has told me that I need to CHILLAX, I took this a compliment...I SHOULDN'T have!!

*I've also learnt from my 2 young gentlemen that unless your shoes cost a minimum of $100 they are not fit for public viewing..

Seriously I don't know how I would manage without my boys helping me with these life lessons..

I should be so happy and grateful for their insight and knowledge..

BUT as I feel my blood pressure rising and spy another sock on the floor I just can't seem to conjure up these emotions..

Put on the kettle, buy me a slab of chocolate and I'll get through this..Anyway I've only got about another 7 or 8 teenage years to go..

HOW HARD COULD IT BE????????????????

  1. Oh Tara, this made me laugh (with you,not at you! "cause if we don't laugh, we'll cry). I have 1 teenage boy so I guess if I double what I go through, that is your life. Mind you, I have a teenage girl....but that's another story.
I'm immpressed your boys have actually been eating the spag. bol.with onion.
    Have a great day.

  3. The image says it all Tara! Just be thankful they arent girls..I had one of each, and have always said Id have 10 boys to my one girl as a teenager!! in reality it may have been an exageration, but at the time it was how I felt. (my daughter is just gorgeous now though)
My 20 year old son still doesnt eat onion!
Keep that chocolate handy at all times...

  4. Tara, thanks so much for entering our APRON GIVEAWAY. I'm so glad you did, it's taken me here to your post, which is making me smile.

Trust me, as the mother of two slightly older GIRLS....this too will pass. Lots of wine or chocolate, that's the ticket. And find something to do, like using a glue gun for crafts, so that when you are "in desperate straits" you can go and create something. This worked for me, and kept me off drugs during the teenage years.

ps. be happy you have boys. Atleast they EAT something! xo Lidy

  6. Hi Tara,

I'm with you on this one! I have one guy who's 16. It's quite interesting but I don't take it too serious, my husband sit back and crack up at his expense quite often. Who needs to watch a sitcom when it's reality?

Thanks for stopping by my Popcorn. I made it to your blog and added my name to your list of followers. Can't wait to read more.

    Take care,

    Lisa

  7. Oh man...I have a boy and a girl, they are still pretty little! Well, I guess you can tell them they can "chillax" and go ahead and get a little job if they need $100 shoes....SERIOUSLY....??? I have a teenage sister (she is 19 years younger than me) she has weird little issues about alot of stuff too. I really think teenagers are kinda like little kids in big bodies. Hang in there mama!
